E. Kansas | That's a very difficult time. I hope the transition can be made as easy as possible for your parents, and I hope you're able to visit them several times a week, if not every day. Frequent visits from other family and friends would be good too, if possible, especially on days when you might not be able to be there.
It would be wonderful if they make some new friends with some of the staff and other residents, as well as participating in some of the activities. You might consider taking your parents outside when the weather permits, or maybe for a drive on a nice day. Sometimes that can help make a person feel a lot better just to be outside and in a different environment for a while.
