This does not negate the need for a control point/ Benchmark. What happens when this base gets left on the tailgate of the pickup and goes for a major spill or you switch to a different brand of RTK. I like Jim's idea with the utility pole mount, but does that stay there forever. If you or your grandchildren want to know where your tile is in the future, use your control points/ Benchmarks correctly. If you happen to have a grade control brand that does not utilize this type of functionality, good luck finding your tile in the future. |
