| Had a 15 3.5 Eco, stop & go farm use & some pulling it left w/ a lifetime avg of 13.8mpg @ 36k miles. It had 3.31 rear end, perfect for hwy use but not good for what I was doing. Running a 16 5.0 w/ 3.73 ratio 6k miles & 14.7mpg so far. (Includes a couple trips in the 5-6mpg rang pulling).
My advice, if you want economy and will be mostly hwy, try the small Eco w/ 3.55's I think it will do just as well or better than the 3.7 @ 3.31.
