Subject: RE: Cat C15 jake brake question

Dearfield Co.
all the electronic engines have a separate little ecm in the main ecm to control fan functions and jakes. I have heard about it in cats but never really actually seen it but we have had multiple detroits that the jakes were on when the switch was off as well as the jakes would quit functioning in time. Usually our cat ecm will be somewhat trouble free and when they do die its all or nothing. The pdi stuff has been another issue though we have had lots of odd failures to the extent we dont use anything from them any more. I think its more of a issue because of what they accept for cores ----------no one wants to turn in a good stock ecm but will sure turn one in off of a burnt engine etc.

Turbos have a pretty big role on jake operation as well what turbo are you using on your cats?
