3 acres with some trees I'd say he is doing you a favor keeping it mowed.

I think I agree. If you have to put a price on it then a share of the hay or value is probably the fairest. I would think 1/3 possibly. We don't plant willows anywhere near a house here either. Those roots are a real problem.
