| The thing is, the acres you report really don't matter anyway. Your crop insurance does not have to match Fsa, it is preferred, but as long as you have documentation to back up your acres you can use your own number. I recommend either using a gps device or even a smart phone. If you use precision farming in your planter you should be using those acres.
No sense in buying insurance on acres you aren't farming or watering down a good yield over extra acres.
And as far as the government program ARC County, those payments are based more off your base acres which are locked in. | |
