Coldwater, Michigan | The longer his description of other possibilities got, the more I had a real idea of what your response was going to be! My NAT habit is bothersome to my wife at times, also. Prior to the internet, my habit was books, and they caused issues at times, also. My wife is a teacher so has papers to grade most evenings. In which case, she wouldn't appreciate me spending much time trying to talk, anyway. So I come on here to read during those times.
I do believe that for your and CottonHauler's relationship it could be healthy to set a time when (reading books, or NAT) would not happen. Mealtime is probably such a time, particularly evening meal so that you could discuss your days events and thoughts without total distraction.
