Thanks for all the replies. They confirm what I see happening with the showers we've had recently. The stuff looks like it is going to explode!

I will mow and wrap it next stretch of good weather we get rather than try to graze it. Getting most of it off of the alfalfa/grass coming up underneath should help those also.

I was not aware that Triticale will overwinter like winter rye. I may plant some more in early fall. I can always use the early spring grazing next year. Cereal rye saved me at least several weeks of hay after planting it into corn silage ground. Triticale looks like it could produce even more.

MichBeef it's good to hear you have your priorities straight! Honeymoon or chop triticale....? Congrats!
