I really can't speak for them, as I'm not privy to that information.

If I had to guess, I'd say because 2016 planters are built before 2016 /firmware is done. I can see a pattern going back several years, on firmware releases for all systems (ISOBUS, KPM III, Ag Leader Integra, Raven Viper 4, Greenstar 2630, etc.) Major version firmware updates for all these systems are commonly available late winter, to early spring (Feb/March). When firmware is field updateable, there's no reason building the machine should wait on the firmware. That's not a Kinze thing, that's an industry wide thing.

While the issue was present prior to 2016, it was incredibly rare. I saw it on one planter in 2014. When standard diagnostic methods failed, all the sensors on the planter were warrantied, and the old ones sent back for analysis, which led to the beta solution in 2015. I used that solution again on a single machine that year. For 2016 that firmware is full release, and I updated any machine I could reach with a thumbdrive, and it has worked exactly as intended.
