Ripley, Ontario Canada
Not sure if we met at a demo in Ripley area, I don't remember it, which demo was it?

I have always calved later, and I background the calves to 800-1000 pounds. It takes so much less work to calve outside on grass, don't have to worry about the calves getting cold, less scours. Biggest problem is if you don't catch a calf for 18 hours after it is born, it can be hard to catch them to tag them, band them and dehorn them. That and the odd cow that doesn't appreciate you handling her calf.
