This whole system operates with one good concrete waterer installation. The Bohlman waterer is in the distance in the first picture above, just to the left of the trailer. The cows come back up the lane a couple times a day to get to the waterer, fly rubs, mineral barrel and salt which are all at the one 24 ft square waterer pad.  

There are posts at the waterer so I can split the group with hot wire and cattle panels and they each use one side of the waterer and go back down separate lanes to separate paddocks. This helps at weaning time, etc.

They'll come up this lane for usually 7 days then will switch back to the other side of the waterer.

The walking is also good exercise for them, especially now at calving time.
