Whenever you stop mid field you get to raise the planter and back up 10 feet so there isn't a gap from when the drives engage when you take off. Whenever you accelerate or decelerate the rate is off target. Whenever you slow down to stop without raising at speed there is 40 million plants in the last two feet of travel.


These are some of the reasons I haven't jumped on the bandwagon. Unless you desire VR (I don't) it's pretty hard to beat ground drive. Also another hydraulic circuit is usually required. This can be a problem with certain tractors.
