Gm and Ford both buy Cummins engines for use in medium duty trucks. Transitioning them into a light duty would/could only happen at a major refresh (new frame/suspension/chassis). In light duty truck world that is about every 8-10 years, everything you see in between is just a top hat. Ford just did a major refresh and GM has one coming in a years. If it were to happen it would not be until 2025. At that point anything could have happened to change what is desired/required/needed by the customer base.

Not any more. The new Ford medium duty are all power stroke. GM never used Cummins in the topkicks, they used Cat.
