No, you are not a BTO. You are a large, successful farmer. (at least as far as what this post says)

A BTO is a moderate to large farmer who does one or more of the the following:

-Looks down on farmers smaller than him
-Tries to rent land at funerals
-Sends out flyers to every mailbox saying he will pay more than any current tenant
-Got big by using bankruptcy multiple times
-Mines land out
-Bullies input suppliers
-Demands COOPs do his work before others because he is a bigger customer.
-Cheats the system (insurance, fertilizer, and so on)
-Constantly brags about his size
-Tells small farmers "if you aren't getting bigger, you are going to fail, then I can get your land"

These are what makes one a BTO in my opinion. Not the amount of ground farmed.

Just my opinion :)

You pretty much nailed it.....Every area has 1-2 of these that are despised..One BTO in my area publicly said that he hoped that everyone went else broke so that he could have it all....One time I had a loaner tractor because mine was in the shop and he demanded that the dealer take it away from me before I was done because he farmed lots more acres than I did..

On the other side I know some BTO's that are some of the nicest people that you will ever meet..They have gotten big by being ethical and working hard..They are thankful for what they have and don't brag..
