I guess it's all relative. In your area, growing only a couple of crops, without irrigation, 11,000 acres would be hobby farming by the standards of a lot of guys I know.
I know lots of guys who farm way more acres, 6 or 7 different crops, mostly irrigated, while also running cotton gins, dirt moving crews, cropdusting services, trucking companies, chemical retail businesses, etc. I'm not sure what you do with all your time.
I could put you in touch with some of them if you ever want to see what a real BTO looks like.
You damn sure won't find them tooting their horn trolling on an Internet forum.
