MN | I suppose Chinese labor is much cheaper and the environmental regulations for a slaughterhouse are much less strict in China vs here vs Australia. Do the Chinese have different import rules for live animals vs boxed beef that helps this to happen as well? Just seems so inefficient to transport live animals across the ocean. Especially cattle. Maybe they have a better market there for rendering or the hides? Be interesting to hear about the market dynamics that are behind the need for this ship. | |
