West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
It just seems to me there is way to big of a difference between the river bids and the bids for you Central/Eastern Dakota people now days. I don't remember there being that big of a spread back in the 80's. There used to be a lot of Dakota trucks sitting in line at the terminal elevators and Dakota trains being unloaded back in the day. Consolidated Freight used to dolly doubles down in the lots and a couple yard tractors would spend days unloading van trailers.

Upper Mississippi basis is .-23 for May corn, -.45 for new crop corn. .-24 for May soybeans and .-40 for New crop soybeans.

Elevators have always told me they only make a penny or two to handle the grain. If this is indeed true, and I freely admit I don't know what it cost's to run a train, but it seems like someone is taking way more than their fair share to handle or haul the grain another 200-300 miles.
