Went to a land auction 4 or 5 years ago. Had a tract of land that had 200 acres in it. Dad was at the auction bidding on it, son was on the Internet bidding on. Dad was bidding against the Internet bidder for the last $500 per acre. Dad finally gave up on the bidding, son got the high bid. Cost them $100,000 for not having their ducks lined up.
