Subject: RE: Explain the Steerable Front Axle To Me

S.C. Minn
We had two 9330 row crop specials. They had their place. We had 14.9 x 46 tire son them. We used them to pull a 16 row ridge till planter, a 16 row ridge till cultivator and 1,000 Bu grain cart. We mounted saddle tanks on the front when planting and side dressing. I agree they were jerky ( steering and transmission ) but the advantage was the visibility, the great clearance when going through tall corn and when you were side dressing or cultivating there was minimal damage to the headlands with them because the rear tires followed in the same tracks as the front tires.
