I got started farming in 1985 so I wasn't in debt. I bought my first farm in 1986 and my second farm in 1988. But as we lost farmers there was never any ground sat idle. If you got started in 1975 you may or may not have made it. Started in 1975, our bank closed May 9 1985. I made it so far by the skin of my teeth.
