Subject: RE: Homemade Y drops

I like where your head is at....I had a very similar idea last year. It was produced out of necessity after being locked out of our fields for a month. Worked very well on our hagie. I welded maybe 1 1/2" diameter by 4" long steel tubing on the front side of our boom for drops to mount. There is a 3/8" hole drilled in the tubing that a pin goes through to hold the units. The drop tubes are irrigator drops(polyethylene I believe) and then a 1/2" steel rod is bent for the "y" with conduit welded on the rod for routing purposes. Couplers at the rear of the y convert the 1/2" hose to 3/8" hydraulic hose. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
