Morris, IL | What do you guys think of these? I used 3/4" EMT conduit, the top is 60 degree bend, i set them to about 45 degree angle, and welded them together in the middle. Hose clamp helps hold things together while i tacked them together. Started out they were 24" wide tip to tip, first 2 pictures. Then decided to put another 22.5 is degree bend back. That seems to flow through the 2x2 corn field really good. I'm convinced i can get a nice band next to the corn rows no problem. I'm worried about them riding up in full canopy? Would like to even try these in 30" full canopy soybeans as well. I'm also unsure how to get this connected to the boom. I could probably just zip tie the hoses together and take them up to the boom and connect them somehow, welcome all ideas. The last two pictures are just another quick idea i had. It adds quite a bit of weight, maybe too much, i'm afraid of how fast they will wear out on the bottom then. These will be going on a JD 6500 so trying to keep things as simple and light weight as possible, thinking skip row setup for 60' boom, main thing will be running them in V10-VT corn.
One other question, how many acres do you think they will last? EMT isn't but 1/16" wall or so, i'm worried after 100 acres they will be shot. These things are dirt cheap, 3$ does 2 rows worth of EMT, probably use a roll of 1/2" hose for 130$, i need few fitting for the top still.
