Subject: RE: Ground raised hogs

Floyd County, Iowa
I had hogs in a similar type unit "back in the day", and didn't really mind it, but winters here were ........"trying". Waterers freezing up. Keeping the bedding area crowded so they didn't pee and poop in it. Building hovers over the bedding for 40 pounders in winter to keep them from piling. And probably worst of all was having to go around the fencing in a snowstorm/blizzard shoveling snow out so they didn't walk a drift over the fence and venture out.
Other than that it was OK.
