So you would like your brother to take half of his pension, invest it in a down payment on farmland, and take out a loan on the rest of it, so you can farm more land? this sounds like a great deal for you, and his heirs.
for him, not so much. his life is made right now; not sure why he would want to add risk, loans, and get a smaller yearly annuity to live on.
