I'm not sure of CAN tax law, but if this were the US that would be a NON STARTER. Pulling half of the money out would create a huge tax bill. It would move you into the highest tax bracket and there would be State tax as well. IRS would take roughly 40% of the income as tax. You would also forgo the opportunity for those funds to grow tax deferred in the future.
