That money was borrowed on the "faith & credit of the US government (and all the states & muni's). And in just who's name did they borrow it? That's right, you, me and everybody else who's citizen. There is only two ways to settle that debt. Pay it off or repudiate it. And what does repudiation mean? Revolution and civil war. Those that hold the debt will want to get paid and when they don't, will "seize the assets" by force if necessary. What are you going to do when they come for your homes and farms That's right, you'll fight. It comes down to pay or bloody constraint.
You better figure out how to handle it now or your grand children will pay the consequences.
