These organizations do spend money to educate the general public and also the legislatures. In the past I have thought that they should not spend any money trying to tell farmers what they are doing but it is obvious that there are a lot of farmers that don't realize all the good these organizations are doing. I sure wish that a bunch of the guys like chadlit would spend a little time and maybe go to their local county corn or soybean growers meetings or at least try to go to their annual meeting and hear some of the things that they are working on. With out the corn growers I am pretty sure we would not have an ethanol industry and we would also not have Atrazine but we would have a lot more restrictive wetland and drainage laws. |
