Read them and be aware of things going on in the world but base your investing practises on historically proven systems and be aware that things can get bad before they get good so have enough liquid to make it through the hard times. Personally I make investment descisions looking out 20 years and beyond.I don't care what interest rates do, I don't care what oil prices do I don't care about the day to day noise from the news world.

Saying you don't care what interest rates are, tells me you never were in business in the 80's.  December 19, 1980, prime rate interest went to 21.5 %.  I paid 1/2 % over this for a total of 22%.  I would never want to see those days again.  It literally put me out of business.
