Indiana | I have a w-2 job so I pay plenty of ss tax. Why can't a farmer completely eliminate all ss tax by incorporating ?
An s Corp passes income through to tax payer which is not subject to SE tax. Corps do have to pay wage to "employee" but that can be paid in the form of a commodity wage which is also not subject to SE tax!! Darn right IRS will try and claim it as a cash wage but if you do everything by the book there is nothing they can do. I've been through an IRS commodity wage audit. I would know! | |
