Subject: RE: Organic corn price?

North Central Illinois
Every load needs to be identified with a specific lot number that links it back to the field of origin. By the time I look up the lot number, I will see which bin that crop is stored in. Much conventional non-GMO corn still has enough background crossing due to pollen drift to flag a GMO test at a food grade buyer.

As for "accidentally" filling from the wrong bin, this is why the certification inspectors audit sales every year. I need to be able to provide receipts for all grain sales. I am sure that a determined cheat could get something slipped by. My inspector noted last year that he would be going over sales records with a very fine toothed comb if yields from conventional fields were under the yields for my organic ones, as that would likely be caused by selling conventional crop as organic.
