Marianna Arkansas | Not quite confident but for me in the summer I can run real high numbers on small acres, need shade is all.
I can hand them feed off the farm and hay areas that can't be farmed or grazed cheaper than I can get and make pasture.
In the winter I sow fields in rye and oats.
Not for everyone but in my case it works out.
If I could have more pasture I would and I am working on that. As crop prices get worse I look more and taking a few small irrigated fields that have woods beside them and planting bmr sorghum and running high numbers on them. We can grow a bunch of forage with irrigation.
