I'm taking my dad out SW of Dillon next week. One of our friends has a ranch leased out there and its a "free hunt" other than the tags etc. Neither of us have ever been elk hunting before so it should be interesting. So far they've gotten a nice 5X5 and a large 7X6 off the place and bordering public land. I told him they really don't need to kill off all the stupid elk before we get there. We've both got elk tags but I've also got a deer tag for whitetail or muley. If we tag out I may have to rent a trailer to haul everything home!
Do u think your friend would give a guy access later season? Would be willing to pay a reasonable fee if the hunting was good.
