Subject: New organic dairy start up

Nebraska
I'm renting a 62 stall barn and have a few questions.
Im moving cows 5 hours from parlor setups so I have my work cut out right off the bat!

I'm thinking about a feed cart either for silage or a rissler tmr cart for in the barn. I will be around the 40 cow milking number.

I have a bag of corn silage, 50 bales of baleage and 50 big bales of dry alfalfa along with 8 lbs of grain is my feed plan for now.

of course I want to maximize my feed would the money be well spent finding a used rissler tmr for in the barn or just feed it all separate with several trips around the barn? I do have some money to play with but the price of that small tmr is well expensive compared to a big used tmr.

I know there's a few guys on here that milk in barns and just getting an idea in the best way.

I thought about just feeding with an electric CSF cart for silage in the barn through the winter! And putting the hay and grain down separate

Ok let's hear it!
