| We always like to think folk actual know what they have and what it's worth. Instead, especially when new into the ownership game, they tend to get advice from divisive lawyers or the latest wildcat farmer on his way to BK. Usually their story sounds better and they are better salesman for their ideas if nothing else.
At least for a while I doubt any 'sense' can be injected into this deal. In time though, when it turns out not to be a gold mine and a few lawyer bills have to be paid, 'experience' takes place. It sounds like it wouldn't be great to lose it even if temporarily, but your operation size (and possibly your other landlord's feelings) dictates you may not want to act very quickly (I might be taking lots of folks to expensive dinners on the other hand).
People struggle to get beyond someone telling them they are getting ripped off. It doesn't feel good, especially after years of good business.
In the end you might be offered the whole thing to buy for reasonable $. | |
