The Mid South is growing a small amount of canola because the World Wheat Market is telling us that they don't want US wheat. Infrastructure and markets need to be in place. Canola meal is a fine protein supplement for a beef or dairy ration - but we just don't have a lot of experience in feeding it. With any new crops, there's growth pains.
