Prussic acid is usually only a problem after frost. Nitrates is more of a problem in summer. If you wait to graze until at least 30" tall nitrates are generally not an issue. I'm in NE Iowa also and just grazed mine for the second time last week. I've found if it gets over 4' tall they waste a lot more.
How worried should I be about Prussic acic.
