East Central Ia
We have been testing this the last three years. Anywhere from V3-V8.

We have done more and more each year and are actually buying our own spreader for next year.

This year we spread Urea 1-1.5 days ahead of a 3-4 day rainy stretch that dropped 7+ inches of rain. We didn't lose any of it... If we did our corn would be showing N deficiency by now and the corn we spread looks fantastic, while some other corn with a different N program shows some deficiency.

We did have a nice 3/4" soaking rain before any big rain events but we did get two 3"+ rains on consecutive days.

But two years ago I had it spread two days before a 5" piss pounder and the corn we spread was our best corn. It had the same amount of N, just different forms and timing.

I have no doubt in my mind it's a good way to manage N on our soils.
