My dealer did the calculations. Came up with about $1000/yr in power savings. This is on a pivot that runs about 2000 hrs per yr. Not worth the cost to me unless possibly if I was needing to replace the panel's anyhow.


What are you running now? That's a lot more power savings than I would have guessed.

The last time we put in a corner machine, we considered going with a variable turbine. It was on my grandpas place and he wasn't real thrilled with the extra large price tag. Our other systems run a Cornell 5rb, so that's what the new system ended up getting too. They might run a little more pressure when folded in, but not a lot.

We have one VFD pump station. There are no corner machines involved there, but it runs five pivots of various sizes. Variable turbines are a beautiful thing in that scenario. We're hoping to put variable turbines at our home place where there are 7 pivots all running from one pump station.
