N FLA | Why not feed it this lower energy ration for the same length of time? I don't think I know enough about finishing and yield grade etc to understand this.
But I'm with you. These packers are paying $1.40 for bulls to slaughter in SE at Brown, FPL, and central. If I could raise steers on pasture and winter annuals and supplement DDG or corn screenings and sell 1200# at 1.30 I would think I had it made. Heck, maybe I can and I just don't know it. They sure wouldn't be finished, but they wouldn't be a 12 year old bull either. | |
