Subject: Good old XP just can't kill it

We've got an XP desktop that is still our primary computer. It is at least 8 years old, and was a Dell refurb when my wife bought it. We keep plugging along with it for internet browsing and basic computing. Today wife was using it and the power blinked shutting it down of course. Wouldn't come back on. Would startup, get to a point and was just a black screen.

Figured out it would start in "safe mode" so I just had it go back to a restore point a week ago. Didn't work. Tried a restore point a couple months ago and bingo! Resurrected from the dead. All I had to do from that point was update internet browsers and a couple plug-ins and it is working fine. Using it this very moment.
