everyone thinks they will never be the one till it happens. can't help people who don't want to be helped. FYI not having an anti virus on a fully patched and updated current operating system is less likely to get compromised than XP with any anti virus you put on it. antiviruses don't protect against exploits to the OS. Only patches/updates released by the manufacturer do. Linux/Unix is easily compromised. it just is not as profitable. Same with Macs and their OSX operating system. Though in the end the best defense or biggest exploit on any computer system is the user. and about the formatting and reinstalling xp if it gets infected. there are viruses that can bypass getting cleaned from a standard format. some variants of cryptolock takes what is called a low level format.
