NEIN | That is very common. The way most trenched in tile is done it will be even more common. Tile is NOT designed to be laid with dirt as the back fill. The settling process allows too much deflection. Plastic is fast and easy and good for less than half the life of hard clay. It is sad how much time and effort has been wasted trenching in mains and back filling them with no support. ALL single wall mains should be bedded in gravel to the half the diameter of the pipe at a minimum. Duel wall too for that matter. To the original poster please consider using dual wall tile and bedding in stone. And definitely plow your smaller stuff in, that seems to be a much better back fill situation because its settles more slowly and keeps the pipe round. And oh add, no tap tees and gravel bed your starts. Hows that for advice! LOL. | |
