Almost all our old tiles are clay. If they are deep enough, they are almost always good. I've ran into 2 -7 inch clay tile in the last couple years, and an 8 inch plastic tee will fit over them nicely.If I remember we had to scab pieces of 8 to make it work. I agree , that 7 inch is very odd or rare.
think new tile will help?
