nw pa | I agree with picking it up and towing it home. How close is it to home,should be able to limp it on a trailer with three inches of shaft. By the time you get all this welding done none of which will be a fix you might just as well just get it home. Block up the fronts so they don't shift from side to side tie up the steering wheel and drag it home. All the heat from welding on this big of an axle will likely cause some warping along the way none of which will be any good long term. I wouldn't make a bad situation worse. If you have to do it in the field you might as well just get the new axle and put it in won't be much longer than welding on it. | |
