| a couple of years ago (2012, I believe?) there was an article about Dave Hula in VA. He/ they went and hand-applied nitrogen (liq N), down thru the rows, after corn was tasseling. They wanted to see if the corn would respond to nitrogen applied after tasseling -and it did. TN, I think you are the best person to know whether your corn will benefit from additional N. If N is going to be limiting, then you should consider it. If N is not going to be the most limiting nutrient, then you need to address what will be limiting. Depending on how you feel about your corn, there is always value in trying to push some, to see what your max can be. How many acres would be up to you...... Those are my thoughts. |
