Little River, TX | Not being a corn grower I can not comment on variety differences.
But soils are sure different.
Official opinion for the sandy ground east of here says N will run out in 6 weeks. In practice N runs out in about 3 weeks.
Here for this high CEC clay it is thought N will last because only about half of the N applied in any one year will be used that year.
Playing around I had N persist for 7 full seasons. Normal production practice N will persist 4 seasons. HERE.
At least that is what my lying eyes tell me. | |
