Late too the discussion, but I have to ask... about your milk replacer. My vet and dairyman BIL said to buy the top quality milk replacer and they appear to be right. The lower cost replacer has too much soy which does not give the calf enough energy. That sounds to me like it may be the problem. Calf will fade away. My daughter and I mix one full mixing cup (in the bag of re placer) in two quart bottles and feed that amount to the calves three times a day. Bought two angus herford cross calves three weeks ago. Calves were three to four days old. We went through a scour period but they are improving greatly and on dry feed already as well as the mentioned milk. Hope the calf gets better.
