In a van, down by the river. | Apparently China intends to build a railroad from Brazil's soybean belt across Peru to the Pacific ocean. According to the press release, the project is expected to shave 81 cents/bushel from freight costs (i.e. $30/mt). Besides the savings, it ought to neuter the East coast port workers, and to a lesser extent the reliance on trucks. AND the multinationals begin scouting ground for shuttle loaders along the route in 3...2...1...?
