Here all our ground is terraced draining into grass waterways. Rather than rebuilding waterways every 20 years and taking at least 2 years to re-establish the grass before letting water run down the waterways, I am building up terraces and running tile down the old waterway. Then farm right across old waterway. No grass to establish, no ditches to patch, no chance of overspraying grass and killing it. Must use at least 10-15" tile depending on watershed and slope. HERE if a flock of geese fly over unprotected soil, we have erosion.
