This may not be what you are seeking but I disliked Win 8 also. The best answer that I found was a small, free program called Classic Shell. Allows you to run and operate Win 8 so that it appears and functions the same as Win 7.  Dead simple to use, just follow the instructions.

I expected some adware or garbage but there is nothing attached. It is available for free from either the authors site or my favorite download site Major Geeks.com.
